Modernization of ITS on the Querétaro Motorway, Mexico

OTT HydroMet Mexican Partner Ingeniería Geofísica y Sistema S.A. de C.V. (IGS) won a project from the Ministry of Transport and Communications (SCT) to modernize and install new Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) along federal bridges and highways in Querétaro, Mexico.

The project includes eight Automatic Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS), which provide road status conditions, temperatures, friction and other information.

The Station Consists of:

  • Non-invasive Lufft NIRS31 pavement weather sensor
  • Lufft VS2k visibility sensor
  • Lufft WS500 multiparameter weather sensor
  • Lufft radar sensor R2S

In addition, each of the stations contains a LCOM mini computer, which is responsible for collecting, displaying and transmitting the data in the NTCIP protocol.
